Leymen Early Music Course
THE KALEIDOSCOPE
We are pleased to announce that applications for the 2025 edition of the Leymen Medieval & Renaissance Summer Course are now open! For this brand new edition we offer individual and ensemble coaching sessions imparted by Jonatan Alvarado, Anna Danilevskaia, Elam Rotem and Mara Winter.

Three of the sources we will be exploring around the theme of this year, "Canso/Chanson/Canzona," are definitely among our favorites and have accompanied us throughout our artistic lives: the Strasbourg Codex, the Cancionero de Segovia, and the Tabulatur Buch by Bernhard Schmid II. All three, albeit very different in content, structure and intent, share their status as comprehensive, varied collections which pose very interesting questions regarding the way in which the instrumental and singing fields constitute themselves and interact with each other.

All three, too, are sources our team of teachers knows well, from different standpoints and levels of expertise, and are looking forward to exploring together with the participants of the course.

Curious about our approach and interested in sharing and trying out yours? Willing to take a go at any of these daunting but—believe us—extremely fun and rewarding pieces of music? Then feel free to apply by sending a motivation letter, a short CV, and optionally, a recording of yourself to leymenmedandren@gmail.com. You can also inquire for more information there, if you should need it. We welcome applications until April 15th.

We look forward to hearing from you!
